Current Data Commercial Vessel Database
Current Data is a comprehensive collection of databases that provide customers with an easy-to-use web interface in order to analyze vessel owner/operator and vessel characteristics operating within the United States.
The Problem
The client came to us with a collection of database data and graphs, all held within a series of spreadsheets) and a dream: to create an application that would house and update this U.S. marine merchant vessel data on a regular basis from several publicly-available databases.
The Solution
We ended up designing and developing a .NET portal that integrated with a WordPress site equipped with WooCommerce to sell licenses for the the two modules for this application, Tank Barges and Towboats. The portal displayed charts, graphs, and, for Pro license holders, a custom query function.
