Online Bookstore and User Portal for the State Bar of Texas
As part of the state’s Law Practice Resources Division, Texas Bar Practice publishes practice books prepared and edited by attorney-authors to assist practicing lawyers in their careers.

The Problem
Texas Bar Practice approached us with a daunting problem: their many, many products—developed to assist those practicing law—were spread across too many applications and online stores. It was our job to develop a suite of “subsites” that would house everything a member would need, as well as a user portal to hold digital orders and subscriptions and an admin portal for maintaining the latest versions of these publications.
The Solution
The scope of this project was rather overwhelming, when first presented to me. I had to work both with the client and with our team of developers to design a bookstore, an online book reader, a customer portal that was altered for each of five different user roles, and admin portal. We also had to design a system for Organizations to exist within the pool of users, connecting users to each other, but also existing separately of any one user. It was a complicated project to design, especially when half of it had to be developed in WordPress to allow easy editing access for the client, but our team pulled through.
